During his time in Vétheuil, France, Impressionist Claude Monet painted dozens of gorgeous garden landscapes. His stunning 1881 painting, The Artist’s Garden at Vétheuil, now adorns the front cover of this beautiful pocket-sized notebook, which includes 64 blank pages perfect for jotting down notes, “to-do” lists, sketches, and more. This glorious sunflower scene is part of the permanent collection at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
French painter Claude Monet (1840–1926) was the founder of and leading artist in the Impressionist style. He had dedicated support from collectors throughout his career and influenced a wide range of artists, including Vincent van Gogh and Henri Matisse. In the second half of the twentieth century, his popularity grew immensely, with his work being featured on commercial items and attracting record-breaking crowds to museum exhibitions.
