Bibles, Study Guides, and Accessories
Deciding which bibles and bible references and bible commentaries to stock is a challenge. I attempt a historical and a critical approach. We begin with the Hebrew and Greek originals. We move through the significant translations chronologically: the Geneva (with its sharp and learned Calvinist notes), the King James (safer for its sponsor), the New Revised Standard, and the excellent harvest of translations in the late 20th Century -- the New International, the English Standard, and the Common English.
Our dictionaries and handbooks tend to be a little conservative, mostly because I am skeptical of the confidence and the imagination of modern liberal scholars. Two thousand years of brilliant minds have thought about and written about scriptures (longer and more in the case of the Hebrew scriptures), and the humble approach with that perspective is useful and wise. The best approach is to begin with the basics and go from there.
On a less controversial note, protect your treasure of wisdom with a book cover or tote. We have several designs with neat features.

KJV Study Bible
A beautiful design, top-of-the-line study notes, historical data, and personal life application make the KJV Study Bible the right choice for your personal Bible study.
A burgundy appliqued frame is inlaid around a toffee-colored patch that matches the rest of the faux leather Bible cover. The entire design is framed by a heat-debossed border with filigree corners scrolls that run along the cover's edges. The title and KJV version reference are heat-debossed on the central toffee-colored patch. The spine is decorated with three boxes featuring elaborate heat-debossed corner scroll designs. The boxes hold the heat-debossed version reference, title, and manufacturer's imprint.
The interior pages are printed in black ink and accented with metallic gold decorative accents and gilt-edged page edges. The robust construction includes a lay-flat spine, two satin ribbon markers, and a thumb index. The double-column formatted text is presented in a 9.8-point type.
The Bible also acts as a record keeper. It includes a presentation page that can be personalized, a wedding certificate, and a family record that provides for marriages, births and adoptions, and deaths. An additional record-keeping page is dedicated to occasions to remember. An entire section is dedicated to the history of the KJV, focusing on its tradition, text, and translation.
Study features include an introduction to every book of the Bible and personal or family devotions at the end of every chapter, thousands of explanatory study notes on the text and the archaic language, essays on 50 key teachings of the Bible, a concordance, and 8 full-color maps. There is also a section dedicated to life as a Christian that covers 37 essays.
A further interesting feature is the brief synopsis of twenty centuries of church history followed by a section on creeds catechisms and confessions. This section includes the Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed, Athanasian Creed, Belgic Confessions, Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dort, Westminster Confessions, Westminster Superior Catechism, and the Westminster Larger Catechism.
With its focus on personal or family devotions, the KJV Study Bible is a thoughtful gift to give to a family this Christmas. Invest in the spiritual growth of children or grandchildren when you wrap the KJV Study Bible this Christmas.
