A History of Fire Protection In Cumberland County, Pennsylvania 1750-1920
This publication is part of a larger document the history of fire protection in Cumberland County from its formation in 1750 through the present. Individual books have been completed for a number of towns and fire companies and several more are planned. This volume is a summary of the period from 1750-1920. A subsequent volume will cover the period from 1921 to approximately 2018. These two books are intended to be an encyclopedic work, reviewing some areas already published and covering additional topics not covered elsewhere. Combined they should provide an overview of the history of fires and fire protection in Cumberland County that is probably the most comprehensive of any county in America
